I'm A Home Owner ...

... well technically it's a second home but I would have to have some Alice in Wonderland magical potion to shrink myself to fit into it!  A few weeks ago I spent a very happy weekend crafting in the countryside with 7 of my friends. We hired a lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere in the Yorkshire Dales - I don't know what was worse, the car journey there in the dark on the Friday night over the moors wondering if I was going to plunge down a ravine or drive into a wall because it was so dark and totally relying on my SatNav to guide me left or right or the journey home on the Sunday in the daylight when I could see exactly what I almost drove into!!  Anyway ... whilst we were there my lovely friend Gail showed us how to make the cutest little chipboard houses - and this is mine!

Gail had seen something similar on the 2GypsyGirls blog and had a go herself and because it was cute we obviously wanted to have a go ourselves so badgered her until she told us how to :)

I added the little doggie when I got home, he looks just like my Haggis

I used:
These digital papers from Nitwit Collections
The little doggie is a Christmas Tree decoration from Harrods and the window and arch of the doorway was cut with a Tim Holtz sizzix die

Tag ...

I went away for a lovely weekend a few weeks ago with 7 other crafty friends and I made this tag as part of my secret fairy gift swap

I used scraps of paper (all my friends use up their scraps and always laugh at me because I am not a scrap collector, I always throw everything out when I'm finished a project but I am trying hard to keep some things for another day!) and lots of circle and scalloped circle punches and the butterfly was made with a few more punches ( I opened a drawer the other day that I have not been in for a long time and found all these punches that I'd forgotten about!!)
Then I raided the Ribbon Girl shop for pompom trim, lace, braid and organza rose ribbon, seambinding, pearl trim and that beautiful diamante and pearl embellishment. The little metal label holder is from Stampin Up - I found that in the drawer with the punches too!

I used my new favourite die - the LaLaLand heart banner die and some Doo Hickeys and a Martha Stewart punch and I painted all the edges of my layers and distressed the edges.

Ribbon Girl Magnolia Only Challenge ...

The new challenge over at The Ribbon Girl blog is Magnolia Only - Anything Goes, so nice and easy :)  I've made my card for a friend who has a birthday next month using paper scraps (some MME and others were digital) and my current favourite Magnolia Stamp. The ribbon, braid and cute rolled rose are from The Ribbon Girl and the dies are Doo Hickey flowers, Spellbinders frame and La La Land banner. I spelled out her name with my wooden alphabet stamps and then everything had the walnut distress ink treatment and I added Platinum Stickles for the glitter

Card for a friend ...

It's sketch week over at Papertake Weekly, follow the current sketch or have a go at one of the older ones. I used the current sketch  #75 for my card and my card ... well it might just be my favourite card ever! Even better is that it was made for a very special and inspirational friend x  Special cards for special people are always the best don't you think?

I used:
More of the papers from this gorgeous digital kit and the script paper I dug out of my odds and ends box
Coloured my Magnolia with Copics and added extra sparkle with Stickles
All the flowery bits and bobs as well as the pleated satin, ivory rose organza, vintage style lace and ivory faux silk is from the Ribbon Girl shop
I inked all the edges with walnut ink and added even more stickles to make it super sparkly.
The little stick pin up at the top is a Tim Holtz pin, a perfect place to tie on a little scrap of pretty lace or ribbon - love those!

Well that's me done for now, not long until the weekend thank goodness and then only 2 more weeks at work and I have a week on holiday - hoorayyyyyy :)

A Christening Card ...

Last week amongst all the snow we had up here we were supposed to be going to a Christening but as there was no way of getting the cars out of the street we were properly snowed in and so couldn't get there. This is the card I'd made for the little one who was the star of the day, it was such a shame that we couldn't celebrate the day with her

I used:

Cheesecloth, lace, organza rose ribbon, pearl bead trim, stickles and decorative pins all from the Ribbon Girl
Walnut ink, spellbinders dies, letter stickers and that gorgeous golden plinky plonky stuff that I have in my stash

I'm entering this card into these challenges:
Midweek Magnolias - Anything Goes
Tilda's Town - Celebrate
CLP - Sketch
Inky Chicks - Bingo (ribbon, image, pearls)
