Do you want to explore digital and hybrid crafting?...

I've got a fantastic book to tell you about that you just have to buy - I know, I'm always trying to get you to spend money!!

Digital & Hybrid Scrapbooking and Card Making with Photoshop Elements is written for scrapbookers and card makers who want to learn all about digi and hybrid craft. It's a reference guide written in easy to understand English which explains how to do everything you could possibly want to do and unravels the mystery of layers, actions, brushes and filters.
If you want to try digi or hybrid then I think this book is a must, mine lives on my desk and is well used and it's helped me so much to get the most out of Photoshop Elements and not to just stick at altering the size of my photographs.

A little bit of 'enabling'...

Today hasn't been a good day for my poor back so I have consoled myself with window shopping and a few purchases from my favourite digi stores :)
Have I told you all to visit Kay Miller's fabulous digi store? She designs the most fabulous digital kits. Now I'm not a very technical person, but anyone can print out a few papers and cut out a couple of elements and glue them all together right? So that was what I was doing at the weekend with her new kit Love You Bunches.

Whilst I was looking for those images on my hard drive I found this card that i hadn't shared with you, it's made with Kay's All Organic kit.
Now, do you know any boys - or girls who would like to be boys come to that! If you do then you need to go to Daisie Company and buy Don Tate's rocket digi kit. It has the sweetest rockets, spaceships and spacemen that are just perfect for boy things. What are you waiting for? Go and buy!!!!!!

Over at Prima I've been playing with all sorts of lovely goodies and there are plans afoot for excitement next week. Last week my Mam's Uncle died, he was the last of 4 brothers and the family found this photograph that had never been seen before. It's my Great Grandmother and her 4 sons, the one at the front on the right was my Grandad. I did a bit of touching up in Photoshop and made the picture into these lovely cards for my Mam to send to our other relatives so that we all have a copy of the photograph.

I've just got time to share this card that has sat half finished in my pile of 'stuff' for over 2 weeks but I finally finished it off and I love it. It was one of those things that you start without a plan and can't quite see where it's going or what to do next. I'm glad I left it and came back to it.

It's Kate Hadfield Day...

Kate has been doodling up a storm over at The Lilypad making funky animal pal doodles for valentines day. I loved playing with the doodles to make this Lovebug card and then tried my hand at gift wrap and a gift card:

She's also made the sweetest little bag toppers for sending small treats to loved ones and I'm so excited that Kate's used my photograph of the bags I made up for her packaging.

These are so simple to make up, I used some of the little bags that I put cards in to keep them safe from grubby fingers and just added a few love hearts sweets and chocolate hearts and stapled the toppers over the bag.

A few bits and bobs...

I'm feeling so lucky to be on Kay Millers creative team because I'm having so much fun with her kits!
(Kay Miller Dino-Mania digi kit)

(Kay Miler - Lovin' Life digi kit)
(Kay Miller - Barnyard Dance digi kit)
(Kay Miller - Jingle All the Way and Winters Peace digi kits)

More good news is that I'm also working with fabulous kits from the NitWit Collection. I've been playing with Mary Fran's Waddles and Whimsy kit

Trish has been busy designing new kits and I loved the colours of her Mountain Rain kit. It's available soon at Prima Hybrid. You can tell how much I loved this card because I used 36 diamonds for the centres of the flowers!!

I'm still catching up with all my Prima creations, I made these valentine ATCs and the little gift bag with goodies from the online shop, my gallery is here.

Lastly I actually made a digital layout! I know - scary!! I don't think I'll be giving up my paper and glue just yet but it was nice not to have a whole pile of mess to tidy up after I'd finished it and it does seem daft that I have all these digi kits and I don't actually use them to make digi layouts.

I was lucky to to be asked to guest for the design team at Crafty Templates. Leo sent me some of the templates from the January kit to play with whilst I was waiting for my kit. I used the hearts template to make this card. I love it so much I don't think I'll be able to give it away!

Life is just one big adventure...

I'm speeding through life at the moment from the lowly position of my living room floor - my back is making very slow progress, some days are better than others. I think the combination of acupuncture and a change in pain relief medication is making a difference. Thank goodness for a laptop and WiFi so I can spend my days on the internet and I've discovered you can make cards lying on the floor
So, my big news from Monday was that I am now a PrimaHybrid flower girl and today I have some of my hybrid creations from Prima to share.

What I'm really loving about the products in the Prima shop is that they are all so different but equally you can mix and match between the kits

I absolutely love these ATCs but I'm going to have to give them up because they are going off for a Valentine ATC swap with some friends (perhaps I'll make some more for me to keep)

The Big One...

I have been keeping a secret since the start of December, but now I can finally let the cat out of the bag and tell the world - or at least the people who visit my blog - that I am a PrimaHybrid flower girl!

I have a new blinkie over there --------> at the side of my blog and one click will take you to a world where you will find

  • Products that instantly coordinate to combine paper and digital product lines

  • Step-by-step hybrid scrapbooking project examples

  • Inspiring articles to help the digital scrapbooker to visualize how digital "translates" into traditional paper projects

  • Tutorials to help the traditional scrapbooker cut the learning curve into learning about digital scrapbooking techniques

  • A weekly newsletter to showcase newest trends and tips

I am so excited because I get to work with some fantastic designers such as: Gina Miller, Weeds & Wildflowers Designs, Meredith Fenwick, Iron Orchid Designs, Carrie Stephens, Corinna Nielson, Dianne Rigdon, Nancy Kubo, Trish Jones, Kim Christensen, Vera Lim and Doris Castle.

I have already been playing and if you visit the gallery over there you'll find lots of my hybrid stuff.

Exciting News...

I love starting the week with something exciting and this weeks exciting news is that I am now on the design team for Kay Miller Designs.

Kay makes the most gorgeous kits that I think are just perfect for making hybrid cards. The colours that she puts together and the detail in her kits are exquisite - he he he and I get to play with it all!

I can't wait to get stuck in and start playing with all of her goodies. Yesterday I made these two cards - both using the Farmyard Dance kit.

Lots of my friends know that I have had some more exciting news that I have been keeping a secret since before Christmas - check back tomorrow as I might just be letting the secret out of the bag!!!

Friday Already...

The week has flown by and it appears to be Friday evening already. I am pleased to say that I think my back is improving. I don't know if it is beginning to heal or if it is the new painkillers that I am forcing myself to take regularly (I'm not so good at regular), but today I haven't had as much pain.

I've been invited to be a guest Design Team member for Crafty Templates and I spent a happy hour this afternoon playing with some of their templates, I can't share yet but will do as soon as I can.

What I can share though, is the card I posted on the Creative World blog this week. I used one of the sweet little Sugar Nellies stamps from Funky Kits and a digi kit from The Shabby Princess to make a hybrid card.

I've got more exciting news to share but I'll save it for a few days until it's all official and of course I am still counting down the days until I can reveal my big secret - not long to wait now.
