A Christmas Card ...

Well it had to happen soon I guess, Christmas! Last year I made hardly any Christmas cards for myself, ended up buying them to send out then feeling like a fraud because they weren't made by me so this year I thought I would start a little earlier and make the most of being off work for a little while.  I've made my card for the Lili's Little Fairies challenge which this week is 'anything but a square'

To make life easier I used one of the LOTV Mini Masterpieces - these are the best idea for when you haven't got a lot of time or like me you are making your card at midnight and the light is too bad to colour in! Anyway, I bought up a stack of them last week when we called in to the LOTV shop.

I used: LOTV Mini Masterpiece and LOTV Christmas papers
Spellbinders and Doo Hickeys dies
Velvet lace ribbon, crysanthemum flowers, liquid pearls and stickles glitter glue from Ribbon Girl
Red mulberry rose and white paint

Using up the scraps ...

My friends won't believe me because I have a reputation for not ever using up scraps, infact they make me come out in a cold sweat just thinking of a 'scrap box' but these scraps were just sitting on my work table looking at me ... I almost threw out the paper that I'd used to make another card ... but I wanted to make a little card for a friend who just got engaged and they all just kind of looked like they would work together for what I wanted to do. So ... I used up those scraps! to make this card (just pretend that I had enough paper to cover the box too but I didn't quite have enough so don't tell anyone)

I used:
Petal Fresh papers by Nitwit Collections at LiliOf The Valley
Carnation and daisy flowers, beaded spiral embellishments, heart charm, pins, pearls, lace and ribbons all from Ribbon Girl
Papertrey Ink sentiment
Heart die - sizzix
Corrugated white card

Rainbows and Sunshine ...

I made this card for the colour challenge at the Ribbon Girl blog, it's a card with a twist - the little felt cloud and rainbow is a brooch!

I used: wool felt, tiny ricrac and sequins from the Ribbon Girl, the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the embossing folder is Quickcutz. The brooch has a little brooch back pin and this is attached to the card to keep it in place

Lovely Hanglar challenge ...

The new challenge at Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia is up and it's so easy - just use your favourite image!  It's been a while since I used my little Hanglar stamps (I wish they would bring some new stamps out) but of all the stamps sitting on my shelves this one is my favourite.

I used:
Hanglar stamp coloured with Distress Markers and Copics for the skin
October Afternoon paper
Spellbinders and Magnolia Doo Hickeys dies
The sentiment was just printed from my computer

May All Your Dreams Come True ...

Today I had some time to play in my workshop which doesn't seem to be happening very much at the moment.  The latest challenge at CAS-ual Friday challenge is to make a clean and simple square card which is what I love to do and Let's Make It Crafty wants pretty. Apologies for the naff photograph but my camera broke :( I am so sad because it was a great camera that took excellent photographs, so today I have had to use my phone to take the photograph of my cards and whilst it is okay it's not fabulous.

I used:
Gorgeous polka dot digital papers by Andrea Budjack (Creative Paper Trail)
Satin ribbon, heart pin, pin protector and crystal lines from Ribbon Girl
Corrugated card, sizzix heart die and corner rounder

I am entering this card into CASual Friday - square card

Anything but a card ...

There is a lovely competition on the LOTV facebook page to create an 'anything but a card' project. I fell in love with the cute penguins from the Mini Masterpieces 4 sheet and I used it to decorate this kraft lidded box. My plan is to use the rest of the images to decorate cards to put inside the box which will become a pre-Christmas gift for a friend (and I have big plans to make lots more for the rest of my friends too)

I used:
Pre coloured mini masterpiece from LOTV - I added a touch of stickles to add sparkle to the snow
Kraft lidded box from the Tiny Box Company
Gingham paper from Nitwit Collections (it's from the FQB Ouchies collection)
Polka dot paper from MME
Saddlestitch ribbon, bakers twine, stickles and snowflake charm from Ribbon Girl

Pretty in Lilac ...

I'm sharing 2 challenge cards today
--------------------------------------------------
It's the first Sunday of the new month so time for a new Monthly Card Challenge over at the Ribbon Girl blog.  It's a bingo challenge, so select  3 in a row and get going. As always we are sponsored by those fabulous girls over at Lili Of The Valley as well as the Ribbon Girl

I selected pearls, bow and lace and I used beautiful papers from Nitwit Collections, church window guipure lace, satin ribbon, pearl heart pins and adhesive pearl hearts. The sentiment stamp is a new (for me) set from Waltzingmouse Stamps

--------------------------------------------------

Over at the Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia challenge blog we have a new challenge to use flowers, Ribbon Girl are sponsoring and there is a gorgeous prize.

I used those gorgeous Nitwit Collections papers again - they are at the top of my favourite list at the moment! as well as taffeta ribbon, liking lilac adhesive pearls, decorative pins, jute mesh and lovely felt to make the rolled rose
