This card ended up looking nothing like what I had thought it would. I like it though but I couldn't find a space for a sentiment! The papers and flower element are from a new kit by my friend Kay Miller and I got to use my favourite scalloped die and turquoise felt from Papertrey too

A Challenge ...
The challenge this week over at Daring Cardmakers is to create an easel card. I've not made one of these before but it seemed easy enough, not sure why it took 5 times as long as an ordinary card however but it entertained me last night trying to get it to stand up.
I used the sweetest kit from my lovely friend Kay Miller who has added a few new kits to her store, I had a bit of a splurge in her store on Saturday morning whilst munching my breakfast.

Make A Wish ...
I always seem to need a lot of birthday cards so I was really pleased when Kay said she had a new birthday kit in the store. The colours and patterns seem really versatile so suitable for boys and girls and there are some lovely elements that can be used for shaped cards which always makes me happy. I love making shaped cards, I think they are the type of cards that stand out from the crowd.

Sparkly Little Tug Boat ...
The result of my sorting and purging earlier in the week I found this gorgeous sparkly braid at the back of one of my ribbon drawers. It's actually the remnants of making a tie back for my bathroom curtain and it looked just like the deep blue sea. So, it needed a boat to sail across it and I had this perfect little tug boat from a Kay Miller kit tucked away on my hard drive.

Lovely Friends ...
Last week when I came home from my holiday I had a whole stack of emails but one inparticular made my heart happy, my lovely lovely friend Kay Miller is getting back into her designing groove and starting up her Design Team again. I am so happy because Kay is just about the nicest person I have come across during my wander around the online crafting community and working for her is a pleasure.
So today she has put a new kit into her store and here is my card using the papers from the kit.

And, my lovely friend Jane showed me a card she had made with a really sweet set of Scotty dogs (just like my Haggis) so of course I had to buy the stamp and use it to make a birthday card for another friend.
Little scamp that Haggis is - he's eaten the 'o' key from my keyboard so now I have 2 gaps where I have to type by pressing down into the rubber cushion as he had already chewed the number 8 key off. I can't stay cross with him for long though!

Does the tooth fairy come to dogs?
My baby lost his first tooth today - well actually he lost two but we could only find one of them - so he's needed extra cuddles and snuggles and I just had to take his photograph when I found him all snuggled up on my bed.

Talking of babies I downloaded Kay Miller's latest kit during the week and I got to play with it today to make my card for the Double Dutch challenge. It's such a cute kit, just perfect for baby boy and baby girl stuff.

Life with a puppy ...
We've had Haggis for 2 weeks now and life is full of excitement! He weighs 1.8kg now (1.2kg when we brought hime home), he loves to nibble fingers and toes, socks will do but aren't as good as bare skin  We've all taken to wearing slippers or crocs whilst he's awake. Haggis has gotten into all of our hearts but it's so lovely to see him snuggling with my Dad who never ever wanted a doggy. He loves to explore in the back garden and can't wait to be out in public when he's had all of his injections (won't be long now) and he's into mischief in a big way - chewing the switches and knobs on the music system, pulling out and chewing the books from the bookcase and 'cleaning' the windows in the living room with his little pink tongue. Please forgive all the doggy photographs if you've come looking for cards (I have those too today) but all our family and Mary from Christisons are asking for updates and this is an easy way for everyone to see him :)
He loved playing in the snow last week, especially the day after when it was all frozen and he could walk along on the top of it. These pictures were Haggis and I before I went to school (and yes, crocs aren't the best shoes to be wearing whilst in the snow!)

We had to pop him in a bowl to weigh him!
Crafting wise I have been making the most of being on holiday from school this week (half term) and have been really busy. Kate Hadfield has really outdone herself this week - watch out for a fantastic collab kit for release on Friday at The LilyPad!
Kay has a new release too - Wild About You - and I love it. Who could resist that sweet lion?

It was my turn to take over Eva Kipler's blog through the week and I used some of her papers to make paper beads. I used to make these when I was a little girl but haven't made them for a long time

And then I spent some time playing with Eva's latest kit (a collaboration with Susan from Scrapkitchen Designs) Spring It On

I've made these little gift pockets before but a challenge at the Pink Petticoat blog inspired me to make them again, I used Lady Bugga by Lauren Grier and Jennifer Barrette from Sweet Shoppe Designs and loved how they turned out. I'm going out for my Aunties birthday lunch later today so I popped a few chocolates in each one and I have a nice little party favour for the girlies

Well, I'd better go and find out what trouble Haggis is getting into now!
