A Quick Catch Up...

Just catching up quickly on a few things from this week. It's been great being on holiday but I've still been super busy and my shoulder is aching from sitting at my desk for too long.
First is the little extra challenge over at DCM, I was completely inspired to open up my new packet of cuttlebug mini embossing folders.

This one was for the CPS sketch and I finally managed to use some of the lovely black and white papers from Pink Petticoat that I got a while ago.

The final one was for the Sketch This (cards) blog and I think it's my favourite out of the three. I'd forgotten I had a whole pack of these papers in 6x6 size but I found them when I was hunting for something else.

This little gingerbread man was one of the posts over on It's A Creative World with step by step pictures if anyone wants to have a go, it's easy peasy and needs no sewing.

This very pink card was over there too last week, I like it because it's so simple and I emailed the photograph to my lovely Mommy to tell her that I love her.
Lots more to share but that can wait for another day xx

Summer has arrived in my garden...

Just a quick post as I'm waiting for my lovely friend to arrive from New Zealand and summer seems to have arrived in my garden so I'm off to enjoy it!
I spent the morning creating whilst the clouds were in the sky and I'm really pleased with the results.

First off is a card for the Caardvarks challenge (make a card with four squares as the focus of your card)

(papers and embellishments by the shabby princess, chipboard letters by scenic route)

Then I got busy with the latest CPS card sketch and it just happens to be a Christmas card!

The third challenge was the Sketch This (cards) #19 sketch.

(papers by the digi shoppe, font - bosshole)

Then just because I fancied doing it, I made a birthday tag out of left over bits and bobs that were lying around.

Making the most of a sick day...

I've spent the day in my pyjamas with a nasty cold, yucky chest and sore ears. I phoned in sick to work and my Mam has rubbed by back and chest with vapour-rub. Not a girl to miss any crafty oportunities I've spent the day in my 'workshop' playing with paper and making cards and making myself feel better.
I've mooched around a few blogs today and found Melissa Phillips blog which in turn led me to Linda Aalbrecht's blog which in turn gave me a lovely 'scraplift' idea for a friendship quilt swap with friends. The friendship quilt will be made of 4x4inch squares each with a quote or saying based on the theme of friendship. They needed to be finished for this weekend so time was running out and I wasn't too sure what I was going to do until I saw Linda's card she's made for Melissa's challenge (are you still with me!). The whole quilt thing was Clare's idea and we've adapted it to use paper, I think I'll turn mine into a little mini book when I get them all back.

I used the quote that Linda had used on her card "The road to a friends house is never too long" and I borrowed her idea for the little houses too. These are now winging their way to our organiser and hopefully by next week I shall have 12 little pieces of art back.
Next up was a challenge on Daring Cardmakers blog to 'add a little love'. I made this sweet little card for my Mam who looks after me when I'm feeling poorly. I sent my Dad to the Post Office so that she'll get a nice suprise in the post tomorrow morning.

(digi papers from the shabby princess, gingham paper from costco paperstack, chipboard heart frame by making memories)

Third job was a sketch challenge that I found on CPS blog, and I made a card for my Uncle's birthday later in the week.

Next up was a card sketch challenge from Di Hickman and this time I finally managed to make a birthday card for my friend Sue - WhoooHoooooooooo she's visiting from New Zealand in a few weeks and I can't wait to see her!

(digi papers from the shabby princess, chipboard letters by maya road, chipboard photograph corners by making memories, staples and ric rac)

That's not all either. I've been busy creating for A Creative World too so check back there soon to see what I've been up to.

edited to add: I found another one! - sketch this (cards) and have just made another quickie. I'm still trying to use up some of my old stash, I think I've had that green striped paper for about 5 years!

(striped paper by making memories, spotty paper from costco paper stack, alphabet stamps by sassafrasslass, buttons by foofala and flower punch by ek success)
