Keep Calm ...
We're having such a lovely day here watching the royal wedding on the television, I made cupcakes, biscuits and cheese scones and we decorated Haggis for his walk
Here he is setting off for his walk (he knows what a camera does and always turns away!!)
I made a card too, whilst watching the television, with a diamond encrusted crown :)
Digital papers from this kit
Crown from this font
I am entering this card into the DCM challenge which is to create a royal or patriotic project

DCM Challenge ...
Over at the Daring Cardmakers blog this week it was Jo's turn to set the challenge and she wanted to see trees on a card. This is what I made, I seem to need lots of thank you cards at the moment.
(I used Crystal Wilkerson tree, grass and spotty paper, polka dot buttons and bakers twine from Ribbon Girl and felt)

Daring ...
This weeks dare over at the Daring Cardmakers blog is to create a card for a girlfriend or sister and this is what I made this morning
I used some lovely papers that I had forgotten I owned from Cosmo Cricket, a stamp from Elzybells (so sorry to see them close) and see that gorgeous looking twine? It's Divine Twine from The Ribbon Girl - and it is my new favourite supply

Life Without A Computer ...
... is very quiet! But hopefully mine will be fully repaired and back with me this weekend and I shall be back to crafting, blogging and chatting to my friends who live in my computer!
Anyway, I've jumped onto my Dad's computer to quickly post my card for this weeks DCM challenge as well as to say that my little Westie pup Haggis helped me pick a number for last weeks draw - he plonked all 4 paws onto my tummy as I lay on the sofa watching television earlier squishing all the air in my lungs and then proceeded to pin me down whilst he gave my face a good wash with his licks! So I had to pick comment number 4 which was left by Effie (I shall be in touch with your prize)
The challenge this week is to make a card that is inspired by snow and ice. Think snow sports, snowy mountains, icy colours, icy emotions etc. Here is my card
Those little frosty birdies are from a Nitwit kit and I used Diamond Dust Twinklets glitter from The Hobby House to make my branches super frosty

The dare over at DCM this week is a bit different as there is a sketch and a sponsor! Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker is the sponsor and I have a goody bag to give to one lucky person who leaves a comment on this post.
This is the card I made using Nikki's products
Hopefully I might get back to blogging regularly soon - my laptop died at the weekend and my school got an Ofsted inspection on Wednesday and Thursday so it's been a stressful few weeks

DCM Challenge ...
The challenge this week over at the DCM challenge blog is to create a card using pearls (June Birthstone) and it certainly was a challenge for me as I'm not really a pearl person - I'm more of a glitter and bling girl :) Anyway, I was looking through my embellishment draw for anything vaguely pearl-like when I spotted these adhesive Kaisercraft pearls that I'd bought from Jean, then I found some paper doilies and decided to make a flower. That was really easy - I just scrunched up the doilie a bit and punched a few layers of cream tissue paper with my small scalloped cirlce punch. I joined them together with a pearl brad and scrunched the layers up before covering in several layers of golden Shimmerz Spray
Those pearls - I stuck them all on individually which I found strangely theraputic and I had to add a teeny tiny bit of bling in the form of two strips of sequins down each side of the paper panel. The papers are from a digital kit at Sweet Shoppe Designs and the stamp is from Papertrey Ink

Dare You ...
Yesterday (yes I know I'm a day late) was a new dare at the Daring Cardmakers blog and this time it was Lythan who set the challenge which is to make an Anniversary card. I used a couple of elements from a digi kit to create my 'perfect pear' anniversary card and added some more of those gorgeous Dewdrops that I love so much that Jean sells

I Dare You ...
Goodness, a whole week since my last blog post but I do have a good reason - a very nasty throat infection that came out of nowhere last weekend. I've been completely floored by it all week and just starting to feel better yesterday and today. I've done hardly any colouring or cardmaking and haven't been in work all week either so it's a bit of a miracle that I have a card for this weeks Daring Cardmakers Challenge let alone two!!
This weeks challenge is all about cards for boys and I've used stamping and my lovely Copics on both of these. My first card uses a sweet little Hanglar boy riding a bike and papers from the Happy Go Lucky digital kit at Sweet Shoppe Designs and the second features a Lollipop stamp in digital form from Lori Boyd together with papers from the Away We Go digital kit from Nitwit Collections. I have two cards for this weeks challenge because I couldn't decide which one to use :)
I'm hoping to continue to feel better during this weekend and get over this throat infection so I can get back to work, get back to cardmaking and get out of this house!

A Bunting We Will Go
I am continuing my guest spot as a Daring Cardmaker and this week the challenge is to create a card featuring bunting or banners. I love this card and it is quite fitting really as although I make all these cards I share on my blog (and more that I don't share) I'm forever forgetting my friends birthdays so I probably need more 'sorry I forgot' cards than any other!
I used this lovely kit by Kristin Cronin Barrow at Sweet Shoppe Designs

Daring Cardmakers Challenge ...
My challenge entry this week is a bit different because I am very excited to say that I have been invited to be the guest designer at DCM for the month of May. The theme for this weeks dare is 'emerald' as it's the birthstone for May. I used the idea of the colour emerald to make a good luck card for a friend and used this kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs as well as Papertrey ribbon and some little pins that I got from the last caft show at Harrogate
Today must be my lucky day as I am also the featured designer at the Sweet Shoppe blog today, I have project post at the Scattered Scarlet blog and it is Friday - my favourite day of the week!

A Challenge ...
The challenge this week over at Daring Cardmakers is to create an easel card. I've not made one of these before but it seemed easy enough, not sure why it took 5 times as long as an ordinary card however but it entertained me last night trying to get it to stand up.
I used the sweetest kit from my lovely friend Kay Miller who has added a few new kits to her store, I had a bit of a splurge in her store on Saturday morning whilst munching my breakfast.

In A Flap ...
.. well not literally. The challenge over at Daring Cardmakers this week is to make a card with a flap and here is mine.
A sweet little Hanglar boy coloured with my new Copics (I love them by the way) and I made the little hinges with a stampin up tab punch.

Diamonds are a girls best friend ...
This weeks challenge over at the Daring Cardmakers is to make a diamond inspired card. This was an easy peasy one for me as love my glitter and sparkle and love adding diamonds to my cards

And ... I get extra brownie points as I used up all my scraps off a different project to make the card. Jean and Gail will surely die when they read that as they call me for not keeping anything

Another Challenge ...
Over at Daring Cardmakers, this weeks challenge is called 'Have A Heart'. I have used Nitwit Collections Family Ties kit again to make this new home card. I just love the text on the image which reads 'loving hearts make a house a home'.

Who is that peeping through my card?
Over at The Daring Cardmakers this weeks challenge is to make a card with a hole in it. I used a digital kit from Sweet Shoppe designs called Blast Off! to make this cute Lil' Alien card and I love to see him peeping through the hole in the front of my card.

Spots and dots ...
The current challenge over at Daring Cardmakers is to make a non Christmas, non winter, polka dotted card. I couldn't resist this challenge as polka dots are my favourite :)

More challenges...
Two challenges for today, luckily I managed to get outside and take the photographs before it started to rain. Today is the longest day of the year, Summer Solstice and it has rained since this morning and was only 10 degrees. Can you believe that I had to get my winter boots and fleece back out of storage!
The Daring cardmakers dare this week is to make a quick card. I loved these DooleyDoo birdies by Jo Kill and this spotty paper was just perfect to go with them that I found in a drawer already printed out. The darers want to know how long it took to make the card too. My card took less than 15 minutes to make.

I've also joined in with the CPS sketch challenge and managed to use up another piece of paper that I had printed but not used.

Monday...
I have a few cards to share today, the first is for the Daring Cardmakers blog challenge - to use wheels on a card. It's Jack's 5th birthday coming up so this will be trundling his way.

(credits)
This second card is for Prima Hybrid, I spent a happy afternoon on Friday drowning in flowers but can't share anything else just yet.

Yesterday was Fathers Day and the men folk of our family had organised a boys night out so not to be outdone us girlies decided to have a girls night out and went out to our favourite Indian restaurant for a curry feast. It was rather delicious. I was really happy that not only did I manage to sit through the entire meal without hurting too much I drove there and back too. My poorly back is definitley starting to feel a lot better :)

Challenges
The challenge over at Daring Cardmakers this week is to include a quote on a card. Whilst I waiting for my prescription at the chemists yesterday I was checking out the selection of greetings cards they had and I spotted this written on the front of a card. I guess that makes it a quote, right?

This second card is for the challenge over at Caardvarks, this week they've set the challenge to create a drinks themed card
(credits)
Isn't it just so sweet - it's made using an element from my friend Kay's newest digital kit, I used the same kit for this card and added a whole load of glitter to the flower.
(credits)
The LilyPad latest collaboration kit is just so summery I can't help but use it again and again!
