Packing Up...

The weather where I live has been glorious for the past week so why is it that it's gone from 26 degrees on Tuesday to only 9 degrees today with wind and rain and I am taking some of the children I teach on a residential holiday this week? If you are into thinking hopeful thoughts - or even doing a sunshine dance - please think of the 6 kids and 5 adults who are off to Kielder this week. I am trying to pack for all weathers but so far all I have is my fleece, my gloves and my blanket!
Amongst sorting stuff out for going away this week, looking after Haggis who is feeling a bit off colour (doggies, iffy tummies and cream carpets aren't a good combination) I have managed to make some cards

The Lilypad released their BYOC kits this week and I just couldn't resist this cute little submarine in Jacque's paper set.

Kate made some fab golf doodles which will be perfect for making the golf mad male family members birthday cards

And I nearly fell off my chair when I saw this house boot element in Krystals new kit over at the Sweet Shoppe so I had to use it for a new home card

More shaped cards (and some other stuff) ...

Yesterday we went to puppy class again with Haggis and we took the teachers some flowers and cards from Haggis to say thankyou for giving up their time etc. Of course two doggy teachers needed a special type of card so I made two little doggies! They each have a little tag hanging from their collars and I used my new Hero Arts I love my dog stamps to stamp a little doggy inside. I absolutley loved them and sat them on the windowsill in the kitchen all afternoon so that I could see their happy faces. They are my latest entry into the Caardvarks shaped card challenge.

So, what else? We've booked a holiday to Norfolk in the summer with Haggis which we are looking forward to, this afternoon I am going to the optician to have my eyes tested as I'm hoping they'll say I need glasses which will stop the headaches I have been struggling with for the past couple of months. I took my Mam into school with me and together we painted my classroom windows ready for a new 'under the sea' topic when the holidays are over next week and tomorrow we're taking Haggis out to the seaside and hoping to find some shells for school and hopefully ice cream and fish and chips whilst we're out!

I also have a few more cards that never made it onto my blog

This first card is using Kate's new kit, fresh in the store today

This final card is one of my favourites that I've ever made, it just looks so cute!

Lucky Day ...

Yesterday must have been my lucky day. As well as winning the prize on the Hero Arts blog I got an email from the lottery telling me I had won £10 on Wednesdays lottery draw :)
Hip Hip Hooray - I wonder what today will bring?
There is another challenge this week on the Hero Arts blog - combining different alphabet or greetings stamps to create a message. Luckily Debbie came up trumps as usual and my new set of HA stamps arrived yesterday morning so of course I had to have a play - I even got out the box of really old stash to rootle through and pulled out some very old papers (one of them was copyright 2004 so practically an antique!!) I also used some of Kates doodles as they went perfectly and I used a greeting stamp but masked off some of the words and replaced them with my favourite Making Memories teeny tiny alphabet stickers.

(Stamps - Hero Arts - Sending Happy Thoughts #CL305, Hero Arts - Elephants #CL280, Ink - Stazon and Memento, Digital toadstool elements - Woodland Whimsy doodle set by Kate Hadfield at The LilyPad, Alphabet Stickers - Making Memories, Papers - K&Company, KI Memories and Lasting Impressions (I really dug deep in my old stash for these!!), Cardstock - Stampin Up, Colour medium - ProMarkers, Black pen - Letraset, Goggle eyes)

Anyway, it's almost 3AM now so I am away to my bed. I will miss my late night crafting session when I go back to work next week

The robots are taking over...

I mentioned through the week that Kate Hadfield had been working on a new kit. It is released today at the LilyPad so I can share it on here. iRobot is a collaboration between Kate Hadfield and Kaye Winiecki and you can buy it here.
I went a bit overboard on these cards, I just couldn't help myself and I know loads of boys and girls who would love to recieve a robot card

Go buy it, you won't regret it - and it's on sale today!!

A Haggis update and some cards...

First off the cards - I'm saving the Haggis update till last :)
These first two cards are made using products from Eva's newest kits available from Sweet Shoppe Designs
Thanks to a lovely lady that I have 'met' through a crafting forum I am the owner of four of these fabulous mailbox tins and used a printable set by Melissa Bennett at the Sweet Shoppe to decorate it - I will definitley be making more of these as they are just so sweet!!
Cupcake doodles by Kate Hadfield

Okay - onto the Haggis update :) He's now been with us a week (seems like a lifetime) and is just adorable. He's been to the vet for his first injection and was very brave, our vet was lovely with him and said he can go out for little mini adventures on the patio area of our garden.

This is for all the family members visiting who would never have believed their eyes at my Dad actually holding, indeed cuddling, a little doggy!! Unbelievable! but Haggis has definitley got into his heart :)

That's my sock that he stole from my foot and has adopted for his own!

A Little Bit Spooky ...

Kate Hadfield is my hero! Have you seen what she has been busy creating over at the LilyPad?

I also wanted to share my exciting news. My hybrid mini book that I made for Scrapbook Inspirations Magazine has been published this month (which was exciting to start with) but even more exciting - it made the front cover!! It's down there on the left hand side with the photographs of the flowers

A rather late LilyPad Friday ...

Before I went away on Friday I finished a few projects for the LilyPad girls. Each month the LilyPad designers join together to create a BYOC (Build Your Own Collaboration) kit. Each set stands alone but when you join them together they create a collaboration kit. Oh my goodness they just keep getting better and better.
I loved all the pieces but a few really stood out for me this month

Has summer gone away?

It has been so cold, windy and wet here for the last few days that I think that summer has finished :( It's not been nice at all - perfect weather for staying indoors and making cards then!!
